چکیده

Abstract Influenced by the continuous growth of renewable energy installation scale and increasingly prominent characteristics AC/DC hybrid structure, disturbance behavior large power grid is becoming more complex. To ensure safety grid, higher requirements are put forward for reliability, accuracy orderliness out-of-step splitting control which belonged to third line defense. Firstly, this paper analyzes principle application limitation ucosφ based on local measurement information, studies relationship error between oscillation center, location coefficient ζ center defined. On basis, criteria branch strategy multi-branch wide area cooperative proposed. The simulation results AC HVDC show that proposed can adapt complex dynamic in multiple generator clusters lose synchronization one after another, accurately identify cutset corresponding cluster, realize unified orderly each cutset.

Wide Area Information-Based Transmission System Centralized Out-of-Step Protection Scheme

A wide area monitoring system (WAMS) with reliable telecommunication infrastructure can be expanded and enhanced with additional protection and control functionalities using synchronized phasor data measurements. With that aim, we have developed a multifunctional line protection (MFLP) model with both system and back-up protection functions. Theoretical premises based on transmission and relay ...

Response-Based, Feedforward Wide-Area Control

I suggest R&D directions for wide-area angle and voltage stability controls in large power systems. Existing wide-area stability controls are mostly event-driven discontinuous actions, and are termed special protection systems or remedial action schemes. More sophisticated controls act on the measured response (swing) of electrical variables to disturbances. I describe applications of response-...

A Fast Voltage Collapse Detection and Prevention Based on Wide Area Monitoring and Control

Voltage stability is one of the most important factors in maintaining reliable operation of power systems. When a disturbance occurs in the power system, it usually causes instabilities and sometimes leads to voltage collapse (VC). To avoid such problems, a novel approach called Vector Analysis (VA) is proposed that exploits a new instability detection index to provide wide area voltage stabili...

Power Differential based Wide Area Protection

Current differential based wide area protection (WAP) has recently been proposed as a technique to increase the reliability of protection systems. It increases system stability and can prevent large contingencies such as cascading outages and blackouts. This paper describes how power differential protection (PDP) can be used within a WAP and shows that the algorithm operates correctly for a...

Wide Area Network Ecology

In an ideal world the need to provide data communications between facilities separated by a large ocean would be filled simply. One would estimate the bandwidth requirement, place an order with a global telecommunications company, then just hook up routers on each end and start using the link. Our experience was considerably more painful, primarily due to three factors: 1) The behavior of some ...
